EATOF, led by local governments in East Asia, has been making steady efforts to establish a new model for international cooperation beyond promoting tourism and cultural exchanges among countries. I hope that EATOF will strengthen exchanges among member countries, which have been reduced over the past two years, and serve as a platform for constructive discussions on sustainable tourism that aims at preserving nature and biodiversity.

Based on our strong trust and close cooperation that has lasted for 20 years, Gangwon State will no spare no efforts to ensure practical exchanges and cooperation in tourism among member countries.

Founded in 2000, the East Asia Inter-Regional Tourism Federation (EATOF) has continued its 26-year journey, striving to promote the sustainable development of tourism in East Asia and to strengthen regional cooperation.

This coming September, the 19th EATOF General Assembly will be held in Cebu, the Philippines. In conjunction with this event, EATOF will further consolidate the foundation of close cooperation and solidarity among its member provincial governments.

EATOF will continue to expand exchanges in culture, youth, and sports centered on tourism, while building a forward-looking and resilient regional tourism network.
